How to Achieve Good Posture when Standing and Walking?
Many of us stand and walk without really thinking how we should align our body. It is really important to be aware of the correct posture as it will do favours to our spine and help our overall health. Moreover, correct posture prevents backache, muscular pain and we feel less tired. Not to forget that people who have good posture appear taller and have great appearance.
Some Tips to Achieve Good Posture
Try not to strain when you walk, arms should be flowing naturally, have your shoulders back and your stomach in. Chin up! Imagine walking with a book on your head and keep the weight of your body on the balls of your feet, also called ‘walking tall’. Last but not least, have shoes appropriate for walking; switch high heels for shoes with some padding. Remember that you should have a pelvic x-ray to really measure any height difference between your two legs and the appropriate heel lift if needed. Many people don’t know that this is the main cause of pelvic/hip/lower back pain!!!
